Volunteers Needed for Garden Tour on May 4, 2019

Posted on March 11, 2019 at 1:19 PM by Sonam Kaur

MMWD is gearing up for our 2019 Eco-Friendly Garden Tour scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and we are looking for volunteers to work half-day shifts greeting and assisting garden visitors.

This free, self-guided tour features gardens designed to protect our local environment and conserve our precious water resources. MMWD is coordinating 11 gardens throughout our service area. We're excited to partner with North Marin Water District and the Sonoma County Water Agency who are coordinating additional gardens in the City of Novato and Sonoma County.

We are looking for volunteers to staff a shift at gardens in our service area:
  • Morning shift: 9:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon shift: 12:45 p.m. -4:30 p.m.
No gardening expertise is needed. Volunteers will receive a free garden tour t-shirt as a small token of our appreciation.

There is no charge to attend the tour, so be sure to visit the gardens before or after your volunteer shift. We ask that all volunteers complete the online registration process in advance of the tour.

If you are interested in volunteering or know of someone who might be, please email us or call at 415-945-1520 by Thursday, March 14, and let us know your availability for morning or afternoon shifts. Don't forget to include your t-shirt size! (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL in men’s or women’s sizing)

Thank you for helping us make the tour a success, and we hope to see you there!
