To reduce water waste while you wait for the water to warm up, we recommend installing a hot water recirculating system. The district offers a $50 rebate to help offset the cost of the system. 

Smart water monitors strap to your home’s water line or meter to provide real-time, actionable data on household water usage. Available to Marin Water customers at a discount from Moen and Flume, these devices are WiFi-enabled, and are accessible through smart phone apps that provide information about water usage and potential leaks. Looking to upgrade your home’s irrigation system? Marin Water partners with companies to offer discounts to our customers on smart irrigation controllers.

Lawns typically need four times more water than climate appropriate shrubs and perennials, which makes converting lawns to sustainable landscapes one of the best ways to use water more efficiently. 

Marin Water offers customers a rebate of up to $4.68 per square foot for replacing grass in their landscapes. Application and pre-approval is required. Homeowner reimbursements will be capped at 1,000 square feet, and business owners capped at 5,000 square feet.

When you install a kit to divert water from your washing machine to your garden, it’s called a Laundry-to-Landscape graywater system. We have partnered with the Urban Farmer Store to offer a $125 discount on your purchase of a graywater kit.

The CONSRV device is a commercial kitchen food defroster and chiller, designed to work with existing prep sinks to defrost or chill foods in less than half the time, and using 98% less water than a typical running faucet. 

In partnership with CONSRV and the California Water Efficiency Partnership, commercial customers in our service area can purchase the CONSRV device for $1,350 (more than 50% off the current retail price).

Cut down on water evaporation with a pool cover. We’ll help cover the cost. 

Using a cover when your pool or spa is not in use is the best way to reduce evaporation and save water. Marin Water is offering a rebate of up to $100 for customers that purchase and install qualifying pool or spa covers.

Rainwater harvesting is the practice of collecting rainwater from rooftops and storing it for later use. This practice can reduce potable water use while also helping to limit erosion and polluted runoff that harm our creeks. 

Marin Water offers up to 75 cents per gallon of storage, not to exceed actual cost. The rebate is for new rain barrel installations only and cannot exceed system cost.

Marin Water commercial and multi-family customers with an active potable water service can receive a custom rebate for implementing water-saving upgrades not covered through any other existing rebate programs. Rebate amounts are based on 50% of project costs (excluding tax and labor) or water savings demonstrated over a 12-month period, whichever is less. Rebates for water savings are based on $3 per billing unit saved (1 billing unit = 100 cubic feet or 748 gallons).
