Project Description
In connection with the 2021 drought, the District acquired, rehabilitated, and recommissioned the Kastania Pump Station, which enables the District operational flexibility to meet its water supply needs when they cannot be met through gravity flow on the North Marin Aqueduct. Project installed approximately 220 linear feet of 30-inch welded steel piping, valves and other appurtenances, and performed a 30-inch hot-tap of the North Marin Aqueduct.
Benefits
This project adds a critical booster pump station to Marin Water’s infrastructure portfolio and allows for improvements to drought resiliency. The project increases Marin Water’s supply yield up to 4,300 acre-feet per year.
