Volunteers needed for trail maintenance and improvement along Azalea Hill Trail on Saturday, June 1, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Marin Water is proud to participate in American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day by hosting our first public trail crew day for the Azalea Hill Restoration Project. Taking place on the first Saturday in June, National Trails Day is a day of public events where communities and public agencies come together to advocate for, maintain and clean up public lands and trails. Trail stewardship is an excellent way to enhance natural habitat and make a beneficial change on the Mt. Tam Watershed for future generations. We will be working on constructing grade reversals, armored crossings and drainage improvements along the trail.

Registration is required and all experience levels are welcome – that includes those with no trail work experience to professionals! Trail events are suitable for ages 13 and up and an adult must accompany volunteers under 16. Volunteers under age 18 must have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Tools, gloves, water and lunch will be provided. Please bring your own water bottle and a bag to carry your lunch.

Welcome and safety talk begins at 8:45a.m. Azalea Hill project sites require a minimum of a half-mile hike. Upon arrival, Marin Water will provide a day parking pass, snacks and lunch to pack. Please register for full details.
