*Statement in response to the issuance of a preliminary injunction for the Trail Sharing Pilot and E-Bike Class I Trial programs on the Mount Tamalpais Watershed*

It is with great disappointment that we announce that the launch of Marin Water’s Trail Sharing Pilot and E-Bike Class I Trial programs on the Mount Tamalpais Watershed will remain on hold for the indefinite future. All visitors to the watershed should continue to follow current watershed rules.

This week, the Marin County Superior Court issued a preliminary injunction for both the pilot and trial programs preventing activation of either program while the process of the lawsuit against Marin Water related to both programs carries out.

We were very hopeful that the Trail Sharing Pilot and E-Bike Class I Trial could start up on the watershed while we worked to demonstrate in court that the programs were designed to protect our watershed lands in a way that is responsive to the changing public uses of this community resource.

It’s unfortunate that after years of public engagement, forward progress on these pilot programs has been slowed by a legal challenge, but we will continue to navigate the best path forward and will provide updates to the community as we have a better idea of changes and next steps.
