Corte Madera – Marin Water is now offering larger cash rebates for customers who remove their thirsty lawns and replace them with low water use alternatives. Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Marin Water's Cash for Grass program will provide up to $3.68 per square foot of grass removed, with the opportunity to earn even more for a limited time!

• The base incentive amount has been increased to $2.18 per square foot. Up from $1.50. 
• A best practices rebate of $3.68 per square foot is available for projects the follow best practices in sustainable landscaping. 
• Finally, customers who utilize best practices, and install a rain garden fed by disconnected downspouts, qualify for the maximum rebate of $4.68 per square foot of grass removed. This additional $1 offer is available through June 30. 

These increased incentives are made possible through funding from the California Water & Energy Efficiency grant program, as well as the Marin County Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program.
